Imagining a Teaching Learning Economy for Nepal

How many students can a teacher effectively facilitate learning with? If there are millions of students who need to learn, there are millions of teachers needed to facilitate that learning. Broadband internet brings the ability to teach on line to many, and these techniques will grow as the internet becomes immersive. That is, the teaching will deepen, quicken. It must to keep pace with the change. This presents many opportunities to earn an income from teaching others who wish to be learned, or to teach. So it seems that there is an economic opportunity for the many who would follow this path at the BoP.
What do you think about this idea?
Regards,
Jan

Hello Madhukar, thank you for your comment. Currently there is a shortage of 45 million teachers in the developed world--one can only imagine how many we need worldwide. There are excellent alternatives emerging both for learning and teaching on line. So that is one of the major prerequisites and underscores the need and role of telecenters. While there is a great deal of attention paid to using English, I believe that it is local content and local languages that are the real frontier at the BoP.
Regrads,
Jan
