Thanks Jenera! Pleasure to e-meet you.
I am running water & sanitation programs out here- first, turning a household water filter program into a self-sustaining social enterprise, and secondly, launching a sanitation sector (enterprise development & social marketing campaign) in the south of the country.
I haven't met Jocelyn Wyatt yet, my only contact has been through Jeff Chapin who also worked on these projects here in Cambodia. Love the approach though....
Definitely come see what's happening out here, I'd be happy to show you all that is an incredible community of social entrepreneurs and programming.
thanks so much for your message. I work for Interbrand, the leading global Brand & Corporate Identity Consultancy. So in this context we regualarly have the chance to work with leading brands on CSR and Cause projects, such as "Feeding America", GE's Ecomagination, etc.
I guess there's still a fuss about the exact definition of "Cause Branding" - often it sort of melts into CSR and Sustainability.
Would be great to keep the dialogue on this alive!
Hi Jenara,
I work in Azerbaijan, seeking new comparative advantages around farming; everything's not oil. There are some volunteers around but farm extension services are scarce indeed. The countryside is poor, farmers inexperienced and being exploited after land redistribution. Anyone having BoP experience of CIS?
What a coincidence! If you beieve in that sort of thing..... Im working at a SAAS startup this summer to learn about successfully managing technology and a rapidly growing organizations. Its been awesome, and Im ready to aply some of the learnings to some economic justice Ideas I have been kicking around. We should talk more about it!
Thank you for the warm welcome. I have applied to a few places like Nepal Institute of Development Studies, ADB Nepal and CARE Nepal. I will be in Nepal in a week. Hopefully job hunting will be easier once I get there. I saw your post about the Corporate Relations internship. Is the position filled. I am interested in applying.
... and I just realized that you write for nextbillion.net - doing some editing and will hopefully be making some contributions on BoP opportunities in Eastern Europe
You've created a wonderful platform! I have just started to dive into BoP topics and BoP Source is exactly what I need. I hope to get in touch with people sharing ideas and discussing practical and theoretical BoP questions. Maybe I can even find people interested in joined research or organizations that seek (academic) assistance in BoP ventures...thanks for this opportunity!
Hey Jenara,
It is good to hear from you. Thanks for this link. I am still not very educated about this BPO resource but with time am learning how it works.
Stay well
Hi Jenara,
I am here (Hanoi) until beginning of October, it would be really great to meet you, if you are coming here. I am familiar with Markerts4Poor programme http://www.markets4poor.org/ It's seems to very interesting, and I'm trying to get connected with that.
I am attaching a draft survey which might be helpful in identifying the most needed essential goods as a potential basis for a supply development venture. Any suggestions how we could get this survey completed by people or workers in very poor communities in Nepal. I am copying this to Shrestha Suvas of Insiders who has been in contact.
Hi Jenara, thanks for your message. This really is a great site. I really appreciate if you could share with information that you know about BoP and Vietnam. I am searching for BoP businesses here, but it seems its not so known yet.
